Aguja Guillaumet – West face

2. Polish

350m, 6b+.

Marcin Szczotka and Mariusz Nowak (Poland), 13.2.2004.

Description. The route climbs a line of the far left side of the west face.

History. The route was climbed on-sight. During their climb rock fall took the gear they had left at the base (boots, crampons, digital camera). Determined to recover the boots at least they went down the avalanche during the night searching for the gear. After a couple of hours they miraculously found their two pairs of boots.

Approach. Piedra del Fraile to Piedra Negra, across the second saddle right of the start of the NW buttress, across slabs (2 and 3) to a snowfield that leads to the base of the west face.

Pro. Standard rack.

Descent. Via the same route, or the Comesaña-Fonrouge.
